Truk Lagoon, Micronesia is undoubtedly THE place to go if metal is your thing. Over 50 ships of the Imperial Japanese Fleet were sunk by the Americans in February 1944, with the majority lying in less than 30m of water, so whether you are recreational or technically qualified you will experience the best concentration of wrecks anywhere. Aside from the sheer volume of wrecks available, what makes Truk Lagoon even more magical is the usually clear tropical water conditions and that the wrecks are beautifully preserved, with no salvaging having taken place at all-for example the Machine Shop of the Fujikawa Maru feels like you could lift it out of the water, give it a quick clean down and then carry on using the lathes and drills! It truly feels like you are diving through an underwater maritime museum.

Blue Lagoon Resort - for the first part of the trip, we will have 3 nights at the Resort and a couple of days diving to get acclimatised and check out equipment before joining the Odyssey for the main event. In recent years the rooms have been tastefully refurbished, making it a much more comfortable place to stay.

Odyssey Liveaboard - Without doubt, the Odyssey offers the best way of diving in Truk Lagoon; the cabins are comfortable, the food is good, plenty of space inside and out to relax in between dives, the dive briefings are excellent and the dive deck is superb (especially with the hydraulic lift!), plus free use of twins and deco tanks. Whether you are a technical or recreational diver you will be looked after and treated like an adult, so you can plan your dives how you want them to be or be guided if you prefer.
