Intro to UK Diving | July 6 – 7, 2019

Grab your mask and fins and come on down to Portland for the weekend and log some of your first UK dives! This is a specially constructed weekend for those who want to dip their toe in UK waters for the first time, gain some UK experience or maybe take a nice easy shallow dive for the first dive of the season. Test out your kit, check your buoyancy and wash away those winter cobwebs!  The trips are designed to help you find your fins and gain confidence. They are NOT training weekends and no teaching or dive guide work will take place on the trip. We will look after you and help you though. This is your chance to ask questions, learn boat etiquette, try new kit etc.

SCAPA FLOW 100TH ANNIVERSARY TRIP | July 13-20, 2019

Join us for a week-long trip aboard MV Karin in July 2019 to dive the wrecks of the German High Seas Fleet resting in the bay of Scapa Flow, Scotland.

On the 21st of June 1919, German Rear Admiral Ludwig von Reuter gave the order to scuttle his fleet as he wouldn’t give away his shiny ships to the Allies. One hundred years later, this gives us the chance to dive one of the world’s most famous historical wreck dive sites to celebrate Scapa100.

You can dive as a recreational diver (range 30-40m), or go tech with twins and stages or rebreathers.   You will need to have advanced open water or equivalent and will benefit from a deep spec and some UK diving experience to come on this trip

With world class wreck dives and breath taking reef dives every day, why not take a trip to the best of both worlds. Endlessly flexible, Wreck and Reefs has become a classic route. And yet no two trips are ever the same. The route can be adapted easily to ensure you visit the right dive sites… at any time of the year. The underwater scenery is ever changing and guaranteed to leave you breathless.

Philippines Reef, Macro & Threshers | April 18 – May 3, 2020

After 3 amazing trips to the Philippines, we just have to return again to this exceptional diving destination to experience the pristine reefs and true biodiversity of the underwater life, big and small.

Our 2020 trip will take in the stunning reefs of Southern Leyte and the thresher sharks of Malapascua. Lynne has dived both locations and stayed at both resorts and will accompany the trip.

Southern Leyte is one of the hidden gems of the Philippines; on the little visited eastern side of the Visayas, tourism is low key, meaning the chances are you will have the whole reef to yourself and the reefs, well, they are simply stunning! It is not guaranteed, but there is a chance of seeing Whalesharks too!
Sogod Bay Scuba Resort, there are not so many resorts that have a house reef like SBSR, with pigmy seahorses, turtles and frogfish being common place. The resort is small, clean and tidy and well run by Phil and Pedro, who as enthusiastic today as they have ever been about their wonderful underwater world.

Malapascua is the only place in the world where recreational divers can predictably see thresher sharks. The sharks come up from the deep for a clean on Monad Shoal and it is not uncommon to see several or more individuals during one dive.
Exotic Resort was the first to start diving with Thresher sharks. The dive centre has a friendly and well run operation and with six boats available, there are no issues about missing out on going anywhere! The resort is perfectly located right on the picturesque white sand Bounty beach.
