Tina and Lynne were lucky enough to attend the Hollis Explorer Try Dive Day at Wraysbury Dive Centre (thank you Wraysbury Dive Centre for the photos!). Certainly a different experience to traditional open circuit diving!
The Hollis Explorer is a true recreational Rebreather. The Explorer is neither a fully closed circuit Rebreather nor a pure semi-closed system, but an intelligent hybrid that utilises the best of both worlds. Its compact, lightweight and extremely easy to use.
The Explorer’s patent pending design is unique in using a single gas; Nitrox, and is electronically controlled to achieve an optimal balance of PPO2 and dive time. Refillable absorbent cartridges, easy guided setup with go or no go, optional CO2 tracking, and 2 hour duration make this a dream for any recreational diver.
As claimed, the unit was intuitive, easy to use and a lot of fun! Also we discovered it was extremely light to transport on dive trips. If you want to see a video of our adventures, check this out .. Video
