Social Night – Diving After COVID-19 Disease
November 11 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
LIVE EVENT AND ON ZOOM
Join us for our social night when Dr Mark Downs will be discussing the effects of COVID-19 for divers, and how to safely get back in the water after having the disease.
There have been over 9 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK so far. Therefore, it is very likely that a diver has already been infected or knows someone who has. The effects, both acute and chronic, of Covid-19 disease may produce a serious risk of suffering a medical event whilst diving. Even mild illness may significantly increase the risk.
This presentation will cover why Covid-19 is dangerous for divers, even those that feel that they have recovered. It will look at some of the recommended protocols for medical evaluation of those wishing to start or resume diving after having had Covid-19.
It will give an indication of the recommended tests that need to be performed before going diving.
This will be a live ‘face to face’ evening in the upstairs room at the Norbiton, but we will also be linking by Zoom for those who are unable or would prefer not to attend in person.
