Week 1: Malapascua

Malapascua is a beautiful tropical island in the central part of the Philippines. It is the only place in the world that divers can predictably see Thresher Sharks as they come up from the deep in the morning to visit the cleaning stations at Kemud Shoal. It is truly a unique and exhilarating experience to see so many of these up close.

Exotic Resort was the first to start diving with Thresher sharks 20 plus years ago and put Malapascua on the diving destination map as a truly incredible place to dive. Located on the South Eastern corner of Bounty Beach. Exotic resort offers excellent facilities throughout, (with the biggest menu of any resort!), superb dive boats and guides, spacious and comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Week 2: Dumaguete

Dumaguete on the Island of Negros is regarded as the macro capital of the central part of the Philippines; along the coastline is dive site after dive site containing superb macro life where you can see all kinds of critters including frogfish, ghostpipefish, flambouyant cuttlefish and nudibranch. No trip here is complete without a visit to Apo Island, which has spectacular hard and soft coral reefs, excellent fish life and many green and hawksbill turtles. Also, a daytrip to dive the whalesharks at Oslob and the reefs of Sumilon Island.

Azure Resort, located very close to the main dive sites in Dauin, is a wonderful place to stay, with well appointed rooms, excellent restaurant, swimming pool, a very well run dive operation and, as usual in the Philippines, super friendly staff.
