Aliwal Shoal is rated in the top 10 dive sites in the world. Diving Aliwal Shoal is an experience never to forget, moreover, the biodiversity of species is mind blowing. From big to small, pretty to scary the reef has it all. Aliwal Shoal also boasts two wrecks that are both different and magnificent dives. Let’s not forget the reefs speciality…Shark Diving! Aliwal Shoal forms the crown of a Marine Protected Area. This means that no form of fishing is allowed on the dive sites. It also goes to say that no touching teasing or taking is allowed.

The club trip has been scheduled at the end of the UK diving season and to also hit the time where the most crossover in shark species are around the reef to give the best chance to encounter 8 different shark species as well as the end of humpback season and the beginning of whale shark season. Aliwal Shoal is also home to a huge variety of other marine life. Mostly including dolphins, turtles, rays, eels, game fish, reef fish and an abundance of macro life as well. Between dives, Humpback Whales & Dolphins are often seen from the boat.

November weather on Aliwal Shoal. Daytime Temperature: 18 – 24°C, while Water Temperature: 22 – 25°C. If you are wanting to combine with a safari, this time of the year combines the end of prime safari season, whilst providing more pleasant morning temperatures.

Staying at Blue Ocean Dive Resort the price of £975, a saving of £125, for ensuite accommodation with all transfers to and from Durban. Flights are not included in the price. Any equipment hires or add on safari packages are charged separately.
