Join us for a week long trip aboard MV Karin in July 2019 to dive the wrecks of the German High Seas Fleet resting in the bay of Scapa Flow , Scotland.

On the 21st of June 1919 , German Rear Admiral Ludwig von Reuter gave the order to scuttle his fleet as he wouldn’t give away his shiny ships to the Allies. One hundred years later, this gives us the chance to dive one of the world’s most famous historical wreck dive sites to celebrate Scapa100.

We will be boarding MV Karin in Stromness on the Saturday. The boat has several double cabins and can accommodate 12 divers easily. It’s not a luxury brand new boat but it’s comfortable. We will do 2 dives per day, John our skipper is very flexible and will always get us to the best sites depending on the weather or how busy the wrecks can be.

2 daily meals are included in the price, after each dive, and also access to the galley for breakfast( full of cereals and bread that we can use) . There are several dining options and a COOP 5min walk from the boat. Last day of diving will be Friday and departure as late as Saturday morning.

Diving:

2 dives a day on some of the most stunning wrecks in the world, wait until you see those canons!! Battleships, Cruisers or Blockships are accessible to Recreational Divers as the depths range from 30m to 42m for the most exciting stuff but also shallower dives are doable, this will depend on the group.

Air is included in the price, Nitrox and Trimix blend are available on board at extra cost.

We recommend a minimum certification of AOW with preferably a Deep and Nitrox specialty. As well as certifications, experience in cold water, diving in drysuit and on wrecks will help you to get more from your trip as the size, depth and conditions of the wrecks can make it challenging for less experienced divers. MV Karin is Tec, CCR and DPV friendly.

Mehdi our Technical diving instructor will be there to help or give a tour of some wrecks and make sure all goes smoothly. Training can be provided prior the trip.

Transport:

Transport is the most painful part of this trip. It is a long way north, but it is worth it, not only for the diving but the scenery and the fun going with friends on that massive drive!

Depending on the group we can either rent a minibus or take several cars. The latter is what we did the last 2 trips and it end up being in the £250 as we have in cost Fuel and Ferry’s.

This is just an estimation and I will be able to give a final price once we have final numbers
